坤为地
Hexagram 2 often points to receptivity, support, and the strength of responding well to what the situation actually requires. Its power is not flashy. It comes from steadiness, alignment, and follow-through.
坤：元亨，利牝马之贞。君子有攸往，先迷后得主，利。西南得朋，东北丧朋。安贞吉。
坤卦象征大地包容之德：大亨通，利于像母马一样柔顺守正；有所往则宜随从不宜争先，安分守正则吉。
Interpretive translationThe Receptive brings sublime success, furthering through the perseverance of a mare. Going astray at first, the noble one finds a guide later. Friends in the west and south, none in the east and north. Quiet perseverance brings good fortune.
彖曰：至哉坤元，万物资生，乃顺承天。坤厚载物，德合无疆。含弘光大，品物咸亨。牝马地类，行地无疆，柔顺利贞。君子攸行，先迷失道，后顺得常。西南得朋，乃与类行；东北丧朋，乃终有庆。安贞之吉，应地无疆。
象曰：地势坤，君子以厚德载物。
大地形势宽厚和顺；君子效法它，以深厚的德行承载万物。

括囊，无咎无誉。

For a beginner, this can be read as a reminder that not every situation improves through pushing harder. Sometimes the right move is to receive, organize, nourish, or cooperate with the conditions already present.
That is not the same as weakness. In many readings, receptivity is a form of strength because it allows the process to mature instead of being forced too early.
